Dave Semeraro - NCSA

Welcome to my page. I am no longer the group leader of the visualization and virtual environments group at NCSA. In fact there is no longer a visualization and virtual environments group at NCSA. There is an "Advanced Visualization Laboratory" that is led by Donna Cox. I am not now nor have I ever been a member of the "Advanced Visualization Laboratory". I guess my work is not advanced enough. You have stumbled upon my old web page. I am constructing a new set of pages that I will post sooner or later. I still do visualization related work but am working on other subjects as well. For now if you are interested in contacting me use the information on this page. This is me in front of a replica of a golden age air racing plane. Jimmy Dolittle set a world speed record in an airplane just like this one back in the 1930s. Is this relevant to visualization you might ask. Well no it isnt but I like the picture so I posted it. I have another picture you might be interested in. Click here to see a picture of Phil Papadopolos, Noel Nachtigal, and myself back in the days when we all had less responsibility. . Man I wish I could remember where I put that hat.

F18 avi of total pressure.

An mpeg animation of 157 time steps of data generated by ASC researchers can be viewed by clicking the link above. The animation was created using VTK software and hardware in the ASC vis lab. The addition of a multithreaded isosurface generator and an off screen renderer greatly reduced the time required to generate the individual frames. The sequence of frames was generated in the background and later assembled into the mpeg.

 CUMULVS PAGES

Follow the links below to some cumulvs pages I have assembled. This area is a real work in progress so check back once in a while. I intend to include information on various cumulvs topics including but not limited to:

My main areas of interest are listed below. Some of them have links to current projects and results which may be of interest to you. I have also tried to include pointers to similar work for your convenience. Various methods of contacting me are listed at the bottom of this page. Electronic mail works best. Finally, since personal web pages are a sort of electronic resume, you may download a more traditional post script version of my resume ( 64k) by clicking here.
